These Boots Are Made For Walking

Tall boots impervious to the elements give our hottie that delightfully Erich von Stroheim appearance! And we appreciate his clever use of his collar to create an upward sweep that counter balances his magnificent boots.

Fabulous Friday - #WhiteAndGold

Our hottie today wears a glorious combination of White and Gold in many different shades and hues. We especially like how the material and color of the toboggan perfectly match the muffler. And our gents gold jacket and contrasting black and blue cloth sling bag are a tour de force in accessorization.

And for you New Englanders scratching your heads we should point out that:

1). Toboggan is Southern for Ski Cap
2). Muffler is Southern for Scarf

The Electric Company

Vivid blues and neon yellows light up our hottie with a burst of energy one would expect from an electric company! And how convenient that blue combined with yellow makes... Green Line!

Meanwhile, near HOTT Headquarters at Car Talk Plaza in Cambridge...
A Harvard Law School student is learning the hard way that disregarding the law can bring negative attention to ones self. Parked for over 24 hours in a no parking area, city crews trying to remove huge snowdrifts had to block off 2 city streets (with resulting detours necessary) so that snow removal teams could carefully carve around the Harvard Law School student's automobile. Our HOTT Crew is placing bets on how slowly the City of Cambridge removes the car and how quickly an unsuspecting motorist plows into it.

Metrosensual

Our hottie's well groomed facial hair, seductive eyebrows, selection of studious eyewear, and that thin blue piping on his jacket that accentuates his masculine chest and broad shoulders are the identifying fieldmarks of the elusive Metrosensual. Frequently found in the company of a woman, usually blonde, the Metrosensual's habitats are primarily urban. Typical behaviors include standing still, making eyebrow movements and affecting a slight tilt of the head while not directly looking at anyone in particular.

Double Tuesday - Optical Allusions

Magnificently showing off their eyewear, our hot gentlemen keep up with the news and the pace of the T via their smartphones. And how convenient that they both have magnificently arrayed scarfs and delicious well-groomed facial hair. Perfect for keeping warm in the -2F temps (-19C for those of you in Commonwealth Realms). Hottie on the left goes for the bold scientific look, whilst hottie on the right goes for a slimmer academic lumberjack style. Both are quite handsome!

You Can Get There By Bus!

Who knew we'd find such attractiveness on a bus! Our HOTT Crew needed to stock up on food for the annual Oscars Party that we host, and we typically go to Whole Foods on Memorial Drive (the nearest Whole Foods to Harvard Square) via Hubway bike. But with all the snow piles blocking the bike paths we had to find an alternate route. And that route was the #78 bus to the Whole Foods at Fresh Pond! And oh so appealing was the endearing hottie aboard with us! You have to appreciate a man who can turn heavy duty winter wear into a fashion statement. L. L. Bean Hunting Boots with thick protective woolens socks, all-weather pants that ward off water and ice, a functional yet trimly fit granite outerwear and those delightful plaid ear muffs are an absolute treasure! Well done, hottie!

Our HOTT Crew is so accustomed to spontaneously taking pics of hot men on the T that we find ourselves automatically taking pics of hot men on the telly! If you haven't been watching WGBH's Masterpiece series Grantchester you should start right now! An absolutely dreamy Vicar solves crimes by looking oh so seductive in almost every scene. Above is the Vicar in perfectly pressed pants. Just look at those creases! We call this shot "over easy".
And in this shot the Vicar awakes to find he's just spent the night with a lounge singer. We call this shot "sunny side up".

Whatever way you prefer your eggs, all was have to say is that we believe we're on Team Vicar!

Listen to the Land

Our hottie's artful use of earth tone colors remind us of a time that will surely come when we aren't buried in a deep pack of snow and ice. His copper brown toboggan is reminiscent of the color of the brick sidewalks we haven't seen in a month. Our man's granite green jacket the color of the leaves long since shorn from the trees, yet which will be bursting forth in several months The chocolate brown pants our hottie wears remind us of the color of Mother Earth's life giving soil which lies dormant and frozen beneath a frosty glacial landscape.

Seriously Cold

It's seriously cold outside. More snow and ice is on the way. But our hottie braves the chill and the packed train with aplomb. And don't you just love how well red jackets illuminate a man's fine looks! If you think our hottie looks a bit down please remember that he's on the Red Line. It takes forever to ride the Red Line. We regret we didn't capture a pic when he broke out in a smile a bit further in our commute.

MBTA Delays Dashboard Widget!

Tired of having to go to www.mbta.com and browse through the site to find the current status of the subway lines?

Our HOTT Crew comes to your rescue with these simple instructions for creating an MBTA Delays widget for OS X's Dashboard! Just follow the easy steps below! Below each graphic is the description for that step.
Open Safari and go to mbta.com. Then click File -> Open in Dashboard

Click on a grey area (not the box) of Safari. That will anchor your widget box. Then drag the bright color box corners so that the area of Safari you want in your widget is inside the box.

We chose to encapsulate just the subway lines for our widget. More or less information can be chosen based on your travel needs. When finished sizing the box click on the purple "Add" button in the top right of Safari.
Upon clicking "Add" you'll be taken immediately to Dashboard and your new MBTA Delays widget will appear (along with your other existing widgets)!

Just activate Dashboard anytime you want to see the latest details on MBTA delays!

Oh, you don't know how to activate Dashboard?
In your Dock it's the icon that, in the pic above, is 3rd from the left. Just click it. Or...
We have our mouse programmed to activate Dashboard simply by pressing the middle button on the mouse. Go to System Preferences -> Mouse to set up Dashboard for mouse activation. You can always leave Dashboard simply by pressing the "Esc" key.

We hope you enjoy our MBTA Delays Dashboard Widget!

Fabulous Friday - Cash Only

You gotta hand it to Beverly Scott. When the going gets tough the tough only take cash! Although we suggest to MBTA General Manager Beverly Scott that limiting sales to cash-only purchases probably isn't the best way to increase funding for the T.
But our HOTT Crew has the answer: Keith Parker! Keith has done an amazing turnaround job of the Atlanta subway system, and who better to clean up after Bev in Boston than the person who cleaned up after Bev in Atlanta!
And of course we bring you a lusciously attractive gentleman on the Red Line this morning. Our HOTT Crew has been leaving for work an hour to an hour and a half earlier than normal so as to get to work on time. Which means so many new men to see on the T!

And our bandwagon continues to recruit Keith Parker as the new General Manager of the MBTA. Keith is currently the handsome hunk of a man who is responsible for the miraculous turnaround in Atlanta after their "change management turnaround specialist" departed for... Boston.

We want Keith!!!

A Man for Our Time

There are those who look at things the way they are, and ask why? I dream of things that never were, and ask why not?

Robert F. Kennedy
____________________________

When Beverly Scott left Atlanta's rapid transit system after 5 years as GM without accomplishing any of the goals she set for herself when she started, she stated it would have been "arrogance at best" to expect her to fix a system with such historic issues.

And then along came Keith Parker! Our handsome, hunky, superhero of a gentleman above!

Keith took on the role that Beverly left and in just TWO YEARS accomplished all of the goals Beverly said weren't possible! If that's arrogance we want it here!
We need Keith Parker as General Manager of the MBTA! At this historic moment when Boston's viability as a center of business, education, healthcare and technology is at risk of disappearing due to a malfunctioning transit system we need to invest in bringing Keith Parker to lead the way back to being a world class city!
He's not only a can-do kind of guy, he's gorgeous!!!!!
Google Keith Parker MARTA and you'll find tons of pics of him on the subways and buses of Atlanta. Google Beverly Scott and you'll find tons of pics of podiums. Nuff said!
Pay this man $500,000 per year (Atlanta just renewed his contract and gave him a big raise, so we need to up the ante to get him to accept what would be the greatest challenge and accomplishment of his career)! He'll be worth every penny!
Even the musicians in Harvard Square Station are thinking it's time to bring in Keith Parker from Atlanta, GA!

Double Tuesday - Fantasy Football

With the T running on limited service, and all above ground train service halted, our HOTT Crew was prepared for a massive delay in reaching work.

Above left, our Nippy commuted in via Express Bus from Bedford/Woburn and relayed to us his progress via Facebook Messenger. Nippy made it downtown door-to-door in 1 hour 4 minutes. Very impressive!

GB came in from HOTT Headquarters in Harvard Square and made it to his Beacon Hill office in a record breaking door-to-door time of 29 minutes 2 seconds! He did leave much earlier than usual, but fast is fast!

Meanwhile FTH lives in an area of Dorchester no longer accessible by public transit (normal route is Red Line), FT has an office in an area no longer accessible by public transit (normal route is Green Line), and Undercover RM lives in an area of JP no longer accessible by public transit (normal route is Orange Line). So, as fast as Nippy and GB made it to work we must remember than 60% of our HOTT Crew is completely unable to get to work. Massachusetts is closed for business. The way things are right now there is no good reason for any business to locate itself inside the 128 area.

And now on with our regular programming!
We're not really up to speed on this thing called football. With game times conflicting with Downton Abbey we wind up seeing only part of the games. We're more into Footmen than Football (as you can see here by clicking on this link to our previous post, Intensity).  But this thing called Fantasy Football seems more up our alley. So let the fantasy begin!

Our two hotties above could play the role of our straight buds. Being ardent fans of the sport they'd take us to football games at Gillette Stadium where they'd excitedly tell us about what's transpiring on the field as we scan the crowds for hotties (and surreptitiously scan our fantasy football buds, too!). And as we discover hottie football players our double buds could tell us all about the players' latest stats. We could go on and on with our fantasy of football!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Close your eyes, Dodie. A naughty pic is coming up! OK, now that we've saved our friend Dodie from ruining her reputation we can get on with the business at hand. Our handsome young gentleman above is decked out in red for Valentine's Day, which our HOTT Crew has postponed until this evening due to the blizzard the past 2 days. We're sure there was a very special person with whom he had plans!

Meanwhile, near HOTT Headquarters in Harvard Square...
...we found this statuesque soldier who seemed very happy to see us! Our fans from outside Boston should note that we had to hold the iPhone over our heads to get this pic because the snow was so deep! It's about 6' deep in this park.

And then our HOTT Crew had a fright! We saw the snow forecast for this afternoon through tomorrow for Gloucester, Wakefield, Norfolk and Suffolk!
And then we realized this was posted by one of our Twitter followers in Virginia. Phew!

Stay safe, stay warm, and keep your eyes out for Hotties on the T!

Today's Schedule for T Service

We emailed Beverly Scott, General Manager of the MBTA, asking what her plans were for today's schedule of services. She emailed back a scan of her handwritten notes on an MBTA map (above).
Speaking of WTF, friends of our HOTT Crew Sergio (left) and BosGuy (right) returned this weekend from warm and sunny Grand Cayman Island. That's right. They left a tropical island with warm caressing breezes behind and returned to record snow depth and record cold temperatures. WTF?!?!

Welcome back, boys!

Meanwhile, it reached -5F at HOTT Headquarters this morning. We're all lounging about in our sexy 2(x)ist long underwears (we always use the plural for underwear for some reason) and are feasting on French Toast a la Provence.

We'll be back later this morning with a hottie. OK, more hotties, as Sergio and BosGuy are quite the handsome fellows!

Sunday 15 February 2015

Code Orange

What a whopper of a blizzard, and what a whopper of a hottie bedecked in Orange! He had the most perfectly trimmed facial hair we've ever seen, and the cuffs on his jeans were classic South End style. And yes, our HOTT Crew is buried in snow.
As you can see above, Mass Ave at Harvard Law School was devoid of all cars, and the dunes of snow along the streets and sidewalks were spectacular. And we think we may go take refuge from the howling winds by visiting the authentic igloo someone built on Cambridge Common!
Don't forget, all MBTA service is cancelled today!

Layers of Love

The cut and color of the coat. The design and expertly wrapped scarf. The delightful cherry red accents of the ear buds. All combine together to accentuate the handsomeness of the gentleman hottie with whom we were packed like sardines on our train. But kudos to FTH for somehow managing to get his iPhone out and ready to capture this charmingly attractive man!

Fabulous Friday - Lime Rickey

One of our favorite treats at @JPLicks (the official Ice Cream Shop of Hotties on the T) is their magnificent Lime Rickey. It has just the right combination of pizzaz, effervescence, and flavor that makes one's mouth sparkle. And our hottie above adds pizzaz, effervescence, and sparkle to a very difficult commute home on the T! It was one of those days where we had to travel inbound in order to fit on an outbound train. And as we transferred from inbound to outbound there he was, our magnificent hottie gentleman!

And we invite you to join us in postponing Valentine's Day to Monday, February 16, 2015. Our local restauranteurs need our business, and we'll need a well staffed and open restaurant to get out from being cooped up during the blizzard Saturday and Sunday. It's a win-win for everyone!

Valentines Day - Rescheduled!

In 2011 Halloween was "rescheduled" due to a snowstorm. And a blizzard of epic proportions is forecast to wreck Valentine's Day on Saturday night.

So our HOTT Crew is promoting rescheduling Valentine's Day to Monday, February 16!

It's a simpler, safer, and more effective plan than urging people to go out to eat Saturday night during a blizzard.

Our reasons are as follows:

1). For many restaurants Valentine's Day business is a make or break option, with no opportunity to make up for lost business.

2). A parking ban and a T shutdown would render travel next to impossible.

3). Most restaurant employees don't live in the neighborhood where they work, which is why almost all restaurants are closed during blizzards. One can't patronize a closed restaurant.

4). Monday is a Federal Holiday!

We don't want local restaurants and their staff to miss out on critical revenue/wage earning potential, but we also don't want to jeopardize the public's safety. Therefore, help us promote moving Valentine's Day in Metro Boston to February 16, 2015.

Make Monday the NEW Valentine's Day!

Rationality

Our world has seemingly turned upside down. Nothing seems rational anymore. So much snow. So little space to put it. And no way to effectively get around. Yet our attractive man above is studying intently the nature of rationality, specifically related to the economy. While he tries to figure it out we'll just sit and gaze at him.

Former MBTA General Manager Gets Lei'd

It's Throwback Thursday and we thought it would be fun to look back at, and catch up with, openly gay and former MBTA General Manager Dan Grabauskas. T services ran rather well with Dan at the helm. Alas, he was forced out by the Patrick Administration for political reasons.

Yet look where he's landed! He's the CEO of the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transit!

Sunshine!

Warm weather!

Tropical breezes!

And he gets to wear Hawaiian print shirts and leis to work!
We have a sneaking suspicion Dan doesn't miss our 78" inches of snow, sub-zero temperatures, and very odd collection of transit vehicles.

Way to go Dan, for landing in Paradise! And you're looking might fine, too!

MBTA Talent Rodeo

Beverly Scott, embattled (and soon to be former) General Manager of the MBTA, infamously described working for the T as, "This ain't this woman's first rodeo". And with her surprise resignation less than 24 hours later our HOTT Crew has hired the Mickey Mouse Club to find a new General Manager by holding one of their much-loved Talent Rodeos!

Saddle your pony, here we go,
down to the talent rodeo!
Gather up Suzie, Jack, and Joe,
join the talent roundup!
Round 'em up, bring 'em in,
everybody's sure to win.
Step right up, here we go,
OH, what a rodeo!!!
Bring along Dinah, Bob, and Bill.
Ask everybody on the [Beacon] hill.
We're gonna have a great big thrill,
join the talent roundup!

Step right up!
Here we go!
Join the roundup rodeo!!!

We post early today so we can bring you the latest update on T service. Details below!

Just as the General Manager of the MBTA has a checkered past (http://bit.ly/1CT3Sbo and http://on-ajc.com/16RpqHD) our hottie du jour has a delightful checkered wool winter coat that illuminates our train! Double Tuesday - Last Train to Cambridge

We were so fortunate to catch one of the last trains to Cambridge yesterday evening. And even more fortunate to get to ride in a packed subway car with these two handsome lads above! Hottie on the left wears an alluring combination of skinny jouged jeans and LL Bean Hunting Boots. Perfect for beating the snow! And our lad on the right has a brilliant red jacket so he can be easily spotted in the snow drifts as well as cuffed jeans for that trendy metropolitan look!
Speaking of lads, we just happened to run into the Lad of All Lads, Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London! Boris was also traveling to Cambridge. Alas, our train was going NOWHERE so he had to take alternate transportation lest he miss his appointment. Kudos to His Excellency the Mayor of London for at least attempting to ride the T!
