Where Were You When the Lights Went Out?

What good fortune! We were on on way home from work when we encountered this absolutely scrumptuous and adorable hottie when, poof, the lights went out. Literally. All over Cambridge. We were just inches away. We could feel his breath creating waves in our hair. His heartbeat seemingly pulsed in synch with ours. His chiseled features beckoned us to run the back of our hand over his jawline and full lips. The darkness created an almost irresistible urge to wrap our arms around him so as to steady ourselves in the confusion.

Basic Black

As we're into the cold weather the color black seems to take over our wardrobes. Some hotties add a flash of color, or more like a splash of color, to brighten their appearance. Other hotties have a subtler approach to standing out in a crowd... by using the texture of fabric to differentiate themselves from the clones. This hottie shows exactly how a slight change in fabric can make a very noticeable improvement over what the mass audience is wearing. Congratulations, perfectly put-together hottie!

As our hottie wires his body with Rockstar energy drink he wires his mind with Wired Magazine. What's compelling about today's hottie is his gray tweed sport coat with subtle hunter green plaid scarf effortlessly propped around his neckline. Notice, too, the neatly crossed legs and suede shoes. Even the bottoms of the shoes are immaculate!

Double Tuesday - Grilled Cheese Sandwich

While waiting for the #1 Bus in Back Bay/Fenway the Roxy Grilled Cheese truck drove by! We love Grilled Cheese Sandwiches... and Roxy's makes the best of them all. And added to the feast were 2 delicious hotties in queue with us for the bus! Hottie on the left has stunning facial features, terribly sultry scruff, and the handsomest iPhone case we've seen so far. Hottie on the right has a textured pullover sweater (we love seeing textured fabric on a man) that fits so well with his jeans.

Coming Home

Our fun-filled holiday weekend on Cape Ann came to a close, but not without getting a Commuter Rail hottie on the trip back to Boston! We like the way this hottie's auburn hair continues with a nice face full of auburn scruff. Mesmerized with his iPhone he had no clue that we were mesmerized with him.

Bomber Command

We're aficionados of planes, so it's a natural attraction for us when a man wears a bomber jacket. This hottie shows style by layering his bomber jacket with a lightweight fleece jacket and a striped t-shirt. And the denim cap and denim jeans help finish off the look. 

While Nippy, FTH and RM had to return to Boston yesterday afternoon FT and GB remained in Gloucester for Dodie and Mave's formal dinner. The champagne flowed freely, all the men wore their tuxes (FT even wore tails!) and we had a grand time pretending we were characters from Downton Abbey. If only we had a Thomas to be our personal footman!

And our saga of Dodie and Mave's Thanksgiving Extravaganza continues below.

Our HOTT crew awoke early this morning to do some online Black Friday shopping (Nippy got a wireless bike helmet communications system just like FTH and GB have), and then Dodie and Mave took us on a surprise outing with Mayor Carolyn Kirk of Gloucester! And we went to the new Cape Ann Wind Farm (Turbine #1 pictured above) that is being built on a promontory overlooking the city of Gloucester. Mayor Kirk signed her name on a turbine blade that will be part of Turbine #2 (there will be 3 turbines when complete) and then invited our HOTT Crew to add our names to the list!

Afterwards Mayor Kirk joined us for a fabulous luncheon and then took us on a shopping excursion on Gloucester's Main Street. What fun!

And now we're ready for some Vespers!

What a surprise for us as we traveled to work yesterday... a freshly scrubbed and perfectly put together hottie! Stunning blond hair that glistened in the Green Line train's overhead lighting, a violet sweatshirt (will be perfect for Advent season!), and a ski cap positioned just right on his head so that his golden locks show as they drape over his forehead.

The entire HOTT crew are guests today at Dodie and Mave's famous annual Thanksgiving extravaganza on Eastern Point at Cape Ann.  GB and FT have been making Dodie and Mave their favorite cocktails (Vespers and Vodka Tonics), which might explain why the turkey spent several hours in the oven with the oven turned off. FTH, Nippy and RM are on their way this afternoon for the famous cocktail hour on the deck overlooking the ocean. GB is making green bean casserole, FT is making a Treacle Tart, FTH is cooking his famous mashed sweet potatoes. And after cocktail hour and the gargantuan feast we'll retire to the library for heirloom cheeses and Veuve Cliquot!

Thanksgiving is a special time for everyone on the HOTT Crew. It arrives at a poignant time of year as the trees stand newly shorn of their leaves, the days have shrunk to what seems like a few hours of light between two darknesses, and the chill in the air hints ominously of what’s to come. And as the nation stops, we join together just as a band of haggard Pilgrims in a new land once did, to offer their thanks to God.

Double Tuesday - Textured Warmth

We've mentioned the overwhelming number of black North Face jackets, and we'd like to take a moment to point out some very compelling alternatives that are most attractive and also make one stand out in a crowd.

Both of today's hotties are wearing jackets by Patagonia that are made of a polar fleece-like material, but have textured ribs that provide a most comfortable fit. And attractive, too. We like that extra attention to detail (even if it doesn't quite show up on a camera phone, it is very noticeable in person).

Ah, Winter!

Now that we seem to be regularly into the chilly weather we're enjoying seeing the different styles of winter clothing. Here we have a hottie in a 3/4 length tan overcoat that is the perfect accompaniment to the stressed and thoughtfully worn jeans. A bright red sweater (cleverly paired with a red iPhone case) and back patterned scarf make give this hottie a subtle, yet unmistakeable, pop.

Ever ridden the T when it was so crowded you felt as if you were in a tunnel? And then, suddenly, a glimpse of a handsome face and you know that the journey has gone from almost unbearable to quite enjoyable. We like the mix of casual black winter jacket with crisp white shirt and royal blue tie. All of which go so well with his fine facial features and blond locks.

How nice of our hottie today to dress in synch with the wall mural at the T station. His color choices go well with the primary colors of the mural. How Dick Tracy! Nice outfit for casual friday, and the far-off gaze seems perfect for the approaching weekend.

It was a dark and stormy flight. Even though GB's plane was cruising at 38,000 feet it was still tossed about to and fro. But the jetBlue flight attendant was there to soothe our nerves. Cater to our needs. Make things better. And being the good boys that we are we followed him off of the plane and onto the T! Our Fly Guy from jetBlue. Handsome in the flight attendant uniform and nicely accessorized with a black North Face jacket (of course!).

Phew. We think we're finally getting back on schedule after having been delayed, kept awake, kept occupied, and just kept from our usual daily routine. Our apologies for the delay in getting a hottie posted, but we had an arduous time getting down to Florida on Thursday so that we could staff the vote counting centers and ensure every vote counts. Winter Storm Athena disrupted our plans and our flight was cancelled. It wasn't until today that we were able to get a flight out.

And look at the hottie we got! Slim-fit tailored suit with open collar. Gorgeous wavy hair. Olive complexion. Sure makes a 24 hour delay worth the wait.

Today is a day we give thanks for the sweet victory we experienced on election day. And what a wonderful sight to see on the T on this special morning! There's more than a chill in the air and the handsome slim men in pea coats are back! And just look at that lush wavy hair and boyishly handsome good looks!

And special kudos to Nippy and GB for their astounding campaign efforts in Florida! As many of you know Nippy and GB have been tirelessly volunteering for the Democrats in Orange County, FL. Obama leads in Florida by just 46,000 votes, so how well did Nippy and GB do in Orange County? Well, this traditionally Republican county swung to Obama by a margin of 83,000 votes!!! They even helped a 96 year-old dead Democrat (Earl K. Wood) get elected as Tax Collector! Go Nippy and GB!

And from what we can tell the 4 states voting on marriage equality passed it! Here are 3 of those states below.

Monday - Everything's Cricket

We had plenty of time to get pics of this hottie today as we were terribly delayed due to track work in preparation for the Aerosmith Concert. And what a hottie he was! Expertly turned out in his varsity jacket with a cricket (the game, not the insect) style pattern. He'd look good on any cricket ground in the Commonwealth (British Commonwealth, not Commonwealth of Massachusetts). He was quite occupied with reading his book and texting on an Android phone with a terribly smashed screen. Perhaps the screen was smashed due to an errant bat during a bowling attempt.

For some reason our iPhone reset to the correct time this morning but the alarm is still on Daylight Savings Time. Lucky you... you get an early hottie!

And we're not quite sure why we call this hottie Jack. It just seems to be a name that would fit him. A simple, yet serviceable name. A name that fits his understated, yet fastidious style. Just Jack. Alas, we couldn't quite capture the extraordinarily trim silhouette of his frame. But we did manage to get the dress pants and dress shirt worn in a casual style (convenient for a slightly more formal workplace while being serviceable for going out after work). We think he must work a lot because he was quite sleepy. Fortunately, being sleepy meant we could get a lot of sample pics!

Happy Friday! We were fascinated with this modern expression of a retro British look. And couldn't help but notice a resemblance to Ralph Fiennes. Notice it, too?
