What a surprise for us as we traveled to work yesterday... a freshly scrubbed and perfectly put together hottie! Stunning blond hair that glistened in the Green Line train's overhead lighting, a violet sweatshirt (will be perfect for Advent season!), and a ski cap positioned just right on his head so that his golden locks show as they drape over his forehead.
The entire HOTT crew are guests today at Dodie and Mave's famous annual Thanksgiving extravaganza on Eastern Point at Cape Ann. GB and FT have been making Dodie and Mave their favorite cocktails (Vespers and Vodka Tonics), which might explain why the turkey spent several hours in the oven with the oven turned off. FTH, Nippy and RM are on their way this afternoon for the famous cocktail hour on the deck overlooking the ocean. GB is making green bean casserole, FT is making a Treacle Tart, FTH is cooking his famous mashed sweet potatoes. And after cocktail hour and the gargantuan feast we'll retire to the library for heirloom cheeses and Veuve Cliquot!
Thanksgiving is a special time for everyone on the HOTT Crew. It arrives at a poignant time of year as the trees stand newly shorn of
their leaves, the days have shrunk to what seems like a few hours of
light between two darknesses, and the chill in the air hints ominously
of what’s to come. And as the nation stops, we join together just as a band of haggard Pilgrims
in a new land once did, to offer their thanks to God.
