Hotties on the Sea!

Boston Harbor Cruises (@cruiseBHC) is the Official Fast Ferry of Hotties on the T and the views never disappoint! Above a most adorable hottie couple on the trip over to Provincetown.
We like to sit in a booth and capture the view out the back of the ferry as we speed across the open ocean on our way to Provincetown.
This stunningly handsome gentleman sat in the booth next to us on our way back to Boston. GB and FT want one of him... for each of them!
When our HOTT Crew isn't entertaining friends at the HOTT Condo in Provincetown we dine at the Official Provincetown Restaurant of Hotties on the T: Sal's Place! We like to dine "on the rail" and be waited on by our charming and adorable waiter named "Q". Here's a dessert plate we ordered just after GB managed to break a full wine glass (Cline Ancient Vine Zinfandel) and completely coat his clothes with red wine, hence the single wine glass. We're very saddened to hear that Sal's is up for sale as the food is superb.

We've been inundated with requests for the recipes we featured yesterday. We apologize for forgetting to include them in the post. You can view these delicious dishes and their complete recipes here:

Our Summer Recipes

Fettucine with Shrimp, Cherry Tomatoes and Basil
Total Time: 30 minutes Serves: 4 (We double the recipe for 8)
  • 2½ cups cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 8 large basil leaves, roughly torn
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 pound dried fettuccine
  • 5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Meanwhile, in a large mixing bowl, toss tomatoes with basil and season with salt to taste. Cover bowl and set aside for at least 10 minutes.
2. Add fettuccine to boiling water and cook until al dente, about 8 minutes. Remove ½ cup cooking water and set aside. Drain pasta in a colander and toss dry.
3. Meanwhile, heat 3 tablespoons olive oil and garlic in a large sauté pan over medium heat. Season shrimp with salt and pepper. Add shrimp to pan and sear, flipping once, until just cooked, about 4 minutes total. Transfer shrimp to a cutting board and chop into bite-size pieces. Discard garlic and reserve drippings in pan.
4. Add shrimp and pan drippings along with cooked pasta and remaining olive oil to bowl with tomatoes. Toss together until noodles are coated in sauce, adding splashes of reserved cooking water as necessary. Season with additional olive oil and salt to taste. Set aside pasta and let flavors meld at least 10 minutes before serving. Serve at room temperature.
Aperol-Citrus Granita
Active Time: 15 minutes Total Time: 3¼ hours (includes freezing) Serves: 4
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed grape-fruit juice
  • ½ cup Aperol
  • ½ cup vanilla sugar or regular sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • ¼ teaspoon orange bitters or more to taste
  • Finely grated orange zest, for garnish (optional)
1. Place all ingredients in a 9-by-13-inch baking dish and stir until sugar is completely dissolved. Cover dish with plastic wrap and place in freezer. Use a fork to stir mixture every 30 minutes, scraping edges and breaking up any ice chunks, until granita is frozen, about 3 hours total.
2. To serve, scoop granita into chilled serving glasses. Garnish with orange zest, if desired.

Summer - HOTT Crew Style

Our HOTT Crew is in Ptown this weekend, and how do we entertain weekend guests? Below is a typical menu for when we host friends in Provincetown. Recipes for the different courses are at the end of the post. We hope you'll try these with your friends this summer!

Above - Katama Oysters from Martha's Vineyard (left) and South Bay Blonde Oysters from Duxbury, MA

Our HOTT Crew adores entertaining in Provincetown. And nothing sets a more relaxing mood for our guests than ample platters of fresh Massachusetts oysters! The clean, voluptuous taste of the Katamas and the meaty and briny South Bay Blondes pair amazingly well with a deeply chilled Sauterne Coutet wine (pictured below). We first discovered South Bay Blonde's at Harvard Gardens in Boston!

The sweetness of a deeply chilled Sauterne Coutet is perfect with our Massachusetts oysters and the Vinho Tinto (Kevin at The Abbey in Cambridge told us about this wine!) is a spectacular pairing with our Fettuccine with Shrimp, Sherry Tomatoes and Basil (below).

Above: Our legendary Fettuccine with Shrimp, Cherry Tomatoes and Basil.

When GB and FT prepare to host an evening with the HOTT Crew and friends they like to serve dinner on the heirloom picnic table on their spacious deck to take advantage of the spectacular harbor views and gentle summer evening breezes. They always serve this pasta cold to create a summery atmosphere. The marriage of al dente fettuccine with sautéed wild shrimp and seasoned tomatoes is heavenly!

Above - Aperol and Citrus Granita

We enjoy a Vesper Martini after dinner, and what goes better with the hints of orange in a Vesper than an Aperol and Citrus Granita! The ice cold granular dessert is a perfect way to end a meal, and the perfect way to begin an evening!

Our recipes are on our next post. Click HERE to view them!
