Gentleman in Red

Our hottie today isn't afraid of the weather. Nor is he afraid to look good when braving the elements. A classic North Face jacket wards off the heavy downpour of rain and breaks the chilling gusts of our 38F temperatures, and it's also in our favorite color - red! Complimenting his handsome red North Face jacket is a pin-striped buttoned-down Oxford shirt and brilliantly black dress slacks.

We also thought it would be interesting to take a look back at our hottie posting from one year ago today. Take a look at last year's hottie by clicking on this sentence

Stand Tall

We like it when our hotties stand tall and proud. It's so much easier to get their pic! And this handsome fellow wears a jacket that deviates from the standard black. By now you know how much we appreciate jackets in bright primary colors. And this hottie is especially appreciated for his colorful sense of athletic wear on the T.

Double Tuesday - Del Monte Gold

Ever had a Del Monte Gold pineapple? It's succulent and sweet, with a slight hint of coconut. Reminiscent of the flavor profile of an expertly made Pina Colada. And one of our hotties today (right) is displaying the Del Monte label, and by all appearances also has a succulently sweet flavor profile! If hottie on the right is succulently sweet, then hottie on the left is our exotic coconut flavor.

Yummm!

Perfectly Positioned

This little hottie must have gone to charm school. How else could he have learned this expert stance + gaze that melts mens' hearts? We couldn't help but notice his perfect posture, which, combined with the slight raising and tilting of his head, and the off-set gaze, make it appear as if he's found a certain someone in the distance. A someone whom he is glad to see. We just wish we had seen the meeting before having to disembark from the T.

Busman's Holiday

Although we've been frolicking in Rome this weekend it's actually been a busman's holiday as we've been working hard on Nippy's campaign for election to Pope. Speaking of bus, Nippy got this excellent photo on his commute in from the burbs. Long flowing blond hair reminiscent of the swiftness with which we hurtled towards Boston on our Express Bus. Navy Pea Coat with glimmering gold nautical buttons cleverly matching his golden locks. And voluptuous lips!

Location: Bus #354

And many of you have been extending best wishes for a speedy recovery for our dear friends Dodie and Mave (who had nips and tucks last Friday). FT and GB had the chance to FaceTime with them late yesterday while they were still at the Eastern Point Yacht Club & Cosmetic Clinic and are pleased to report that they are recovering quite well, although they do have the appearance right now of Joan Crawford in a turban but with the wrapping extending around their faces. It's a look that's perfect for a Vesper Martini. Kind of like this (below). Speedy recovery, Dodie and Mave!

La Dolce Vita

Our entire HOTT Crew is having a delightful time in the refreshing Mediterranean climate of the eternal city, Rome. While you all are in Boston awaiting a snowstorm we're basking in sunshine and caressing breezes. And whilst in Rome FTH has discovered the men of Morocco! Which reminds us of this gent discovered on the commute home from work. He wears a typically Bostonian take on winter attire, yet accents his clothing, and his delightful skin tone, with a pale plum Oxford shirt. A most attractive fellow.

And where, might you be asking, are we staying in Rome during our campaign to have Nippy elected as Pope? In this delightful neighborhood below!
Just a few miles from the Vatican, our home for the next several days is in this charming area that even comes with a small romantic lake. We can easily become lost to the world listening to the gentle breezes rustling the fronds of the many date palms around our villa.

And now we must go and look for GB and FT. We haven't seen them since they returned from a shopping trip where they acquired vast quantities of stylish red 2(x)ist underwear (which they claim are needed for the papal conclave). Hmmmmm!

Fabulous Friday - The Passion

The stars seem to have aligned for us this weekend. The five of us who do this blog (FT, GB, FTH, RM and Nippy) have had quite the busy schedule. And today's hottie seemed perfectly themed for our events this weekend.

Our hottie above has an amazing resemblence to Mel Gibson. Mel Gibson made the very Roman Catholic film The Passion of Christ which made him the darling of Vatican City. So we feature him today as a shameless ploy to get more support for Nippy's campaign to be elected Pope! (Click here to see Nippy's campaign announcement on our post "We Throw Our Hat in the Ring").

Of course, just as our HOTT Crew is embarking on multi-state international campaign tour a snowstorm bears down on Boston AND our dear friends on Cape Ann, Dodie and Mave (click their names to learn more about them), announce to us that they have chosen this weekend to go under the knife for a "nip and tuck" (someone please explain to us why women in their 30's would want to have cosmetic surgery. We just don't get it). Nippy is so disappointed that he won't be able to make the rounds at their hospital dispensing Nipal blessings (Nipal = Nippy + Papal). The HOTT Crew sends all their best to Dodie and Mave! Hope we recognize them on their next gala event!

So, instead of tending to Dodie and Mave at the hospital we braved the maddening crowds at Logan airport for our flight to.... ROME! La Dolce Vita! The Trevi Fountain! Heavenly Hunks! We arrived at our gate at Logan airport and, of course, immediately began taking pics of Euro hunks. After all, you're our fans, we like to share, we're giving guys. We do it for you!
GB and FT swooned when this bow tied hottie found his way to our gate. So confident. So smart looking. So... yummy!
Meanwhile Nippy and FTH focused on this Euro Hottie. Note the way the scarf is artfully intertwined with his satchel strap the way only a European male can do. Alas, he sat nowhere near us on the plane.
GB and FT were like gleeful schoolboys when they realized that bow tie guy was going to sit directly in front of them on the plane! We do find it unwelcome, though, that airlines are using 757s for intercontinental routes. We'd so much prefer to see bow tie guy spread out across a row of five seats (FT would like him sunny side up while GB would like him over easy).
And finally, after two change of planes (hey, we booked last minute), we arrived in Rome! And immediately found an angelic hottie aboard the Rome-Fumicello International Airport's train system! Just look at that hair!

And now it's time for us to get dressed. And look who Nippy has found to help us with that!

Bundle of Hotness

Oh how we love to find a bundled up hottie on our commute. This particular gent has quite the fetching (and well polished) shoes, handsome off-white jeans and accents of gray herringbone wool coat with a bundle of scarf wrapped deliciously around his neck!

Diamond in the Rough

At times we enjoy our hotties with a bit of roughness around the edges. For example, our hottie this morning has well-worn (but not too worn) shoes for the inclement weather. Gloves with fingertips removed for easy browsing of his iPad (we swoon over men with iPads). Aviator sunglasses tucked inside his serviceable coat. All in all, our Diamond in the rough!

Double Tuesday - Paired Passengers

When we find a double we enjoy comparing and contrasting our two gents. And knowing if they are acquaintances helps us better observe the subtleties of their fashion choices. Today's example have an intriguing similarity in style and mannerisms. Notice the black jackets, each hottie layering a T-shirt underneath. Hottie on the left chooses a black T-shirt (perhaps he's a fan of Steve Jobs!) while hottie on the right chooses a white T-shirt. They're dressed similarly enough to be friends, yet differently enough not to be mistaken for a couple. We think they're both cute men.

Fabulous Friday - Abercrombie & Fitch

The moose is loose! The moose is loose on the Green Line! We captured this compact and tightly dressed hottie on his way home while wearing his Abercrombie & Fitch moose logo fleece jacket. Pay special attention the the way his fleece jacket's sleeves wrinkle slightly as his arms bend. That's a very good thing in a tightly-tailored jacket such as this. And extra points to our hottie for being able to carry off a refined look while wearing a jacket with such a pronounced turtle neck effect.

Of course, yesterday was Valentine's Day and we had the opportunity to capture lots of flower-toting hotties on their way home to their loved ones.  The plethora of men with cut flowers has inspired FTH, our Executive for Diversity Casting and Sustainable Commerce, to find a source where one can find socially responsible florists and restaurants. We'll post a link to that source in an upcoming issue!

And don't forget to trudge through the snowbanks to CVS this morning. Chocolates are on sale!

Don't Fence Me In

What a Valentine's Day treat we had when we stumbled upon this delectable hottie waiting for the bus in Cambridge. We really enjoy men who know how to wear a duffle coat, and the tan sling satchel is a nice compliment to the outfit. We also find it very seductive the way he holds his coffee mug. And, of course, we have to mention the Cantabridgian beard. He looks so smart!

Our HOTT Crew all have exciting plans for Valentine's Day. We hope you have as much fun as we do! Happy Valentines Day!

Double Tuesday - Platform #1

Now boarding on Platform #1, smokin' hot hotties in black! Although they're not together, they blend like watercolors to form one lasting impression. It's as if they're twins! We love twins! Notice how our hotties are wearing the same black wool coat, both have collars upturned to ward against the brisk winds, and they each have a black sling satchel slung over their right shoulders.

Location: #1 Bus Platform at Central Square

Also boarding on Platform #1, but on the Red Line, are these two Harvard bound gents on the last train before the T ended service due to the blizzard. Harvard Hottie on the left is wearing his L. L. Bean snow boots while Harvard Hottie on the right wears North Face boots. Unlike our hotties above, these two hotties were traveling together but dressed separately, creating an interesting contrast in boots, pants and coats.

All this talk about platforms reminds us that our renowned Nippy has come up with the first plank in his platform for his candidacy to be elected Pope! Platform Plank #1 is:

Male Synchronized Swim Team in the Olympics!

We're imagining training taking place in the Trevi Fountain. And lots of identical twins on the team! Skimpy bikini swimsuits by our national sponsor, 2(x)ist, of course. Should make for compelling live underwater cameras.
Speaking of twins, here's a subway video featuring a plethora of male hottie twins. Our HOTT Crew knows of at least 2 sets of male twins and we'd like to find more for a Twins on the T video. If you know of any let us know!

We Throw Our Hat in the Ring

Nippy for Pope!

With the not so stunning news that the Pope is resigning effective February 28 (we think it has something to do with his butler) our very own Nippy, who owns a stunning pair of Cardinal Red 2(x)ist long underwear, has announced his candidacy for Pope! Nippy is reserved, yet bold. Kind, yet decisive. Young, and able to reign for many many decades! Nippy is the perfect choice!

Pope Nippy Elect has already assembled his team of Vatican insiders (below) to manage his campaign, and what hunky insiders they are! The gent 2nd from left on the bottom row will be his Chief of Staff.
We're making plans for Nippy's campaign trips. We see Rome, Barcelona, and Mykonos on our itinerary already.

Vote for Nippy for Pope! After all, wouldn't you like a pope who wears 2(x)ist under those fancy robes?

Oh... the handsome hottie in a cowboy-esque hat was discovered on the Red Line. A most congenial fellow. We think he'd be a good spokesperson for Nippy's campaign!

Snowpocolypse - Day 3

UPDATE: Limited MBTA service today (Sunday). Check www.mbta.com for details.

On the morning that the storm began we captured this very well prepared manly man on our train to work. Such masculine snow boots. Blue jeans already cleverly tucked in to the boots to keep out the snow. And he maintains a sense of being fashionable with his pea coat and gray scarf. We think we'd like to tumble into a snow bank with him!

Location: Green Line at Hynes
Imagined Profession: Inside Sales Manager

And although it's a great inconvenience for the T to be out of service for yet another day (most of us in Boston don't have cars), thus limiting us to our immediate neighborhoods, the MBTA was hard at work yesterday testing Green Line trains on the C Branch in Brookline (see video below). And it was very dicey. This video was taken at Washington Square.

And for those of you going a little stir crazy with being trapped at home for, at this point, over 40 hours, we offer this entertaining video of Golden Retriever puppies!

And here's work being done this afternoon on the Mattapan High-Speed Line!

Snowpocolypse!

UPDATE: The T remains closed today (Saturday) due to the blizzard.

Location: Red Line at Charles/MGH
Imagined Profession: Internationally Renowned Neurologist
Photographer: GB

The first snowflakes began to fall around 9 a.m. and by 1 p.m. the exodus from downtown began as the T was shutting down at 3:30 p.m. As we arrived at the Charles/MGH station we immediately came upon this gorgeous hottie sumptuously bedecked in a black and white striped scarf. Notice how his scarf is more for ornamentation than protection from the cold. The pairing of light chino pants and white in the scarf go so well with the black leather sling satchel and black rollaboard office case. Topping it off is black hair and designer eyewear. We would have followed him but...

...we were on a quest to find ourselves a weatherman! And find one we did with the help of our HOTT friends Dodie and Mave (who were ensconced in their oceanfront home on Brace Cove for the duration of the storm). Dodie and Mave watched TV and sent us texts to guide us to our weathermen.

And at Boston Common near the Park Street T we found Eric Fisher of The Weather Channel! After appearing on a live broadcast with him (in the background) we got to chat him up in person. He's even hunkier in person! And a delightful personality. FTH was in Weathergeek heaven and spoke at length with Eric about why this storm is named Nemo (apparently Nemo was chosen for its meaning, "from the valley" in Greek and "no name" in Latin).

Of course, we had to try out our 2(x)ist long underwear graciously supplied to us at no charge by 2(x)ist. Once we all arrived at HOTT Headquarters we donned our gay apparel and lounged in these glorious long underwears while drinking Vesper Martinis. See our review below.
FTH and RM wore white, FT and GB wore dark gray, and Nippy wore red. The red 2(x)ist long underwears were simply stunning on Nippy! Definitely a color he should wear more often.

The fine ribbed texture of these 100% cotton long underwears was stunningly glorious to wear, too. Hugged every muscle. The fit was outstanding.  So comfortable for lounging around in our HOTT Headquarters. But the true test is how warm they keep one outside in a blizzard.

So... we all went outside wearing only our long underwear (well, we had on winter coats and hats and gloves, but no pants) and walked several blocks down Beacon Street in Brookline. Despite the fact that we were only in our underwear we still were amazingly warm! Our individual reviews are:

FT: They caress me all over!
FTH: They feel so good I feel guilty!
GB: It's like being in a meadow on a warm sunny day!
RM: I want to wear these instead of cycling tights!
Nippy: The contour pouch cradles my jewels so well!

Basically, we highly recommend them. And now it's time for us to go play in the snow!

Blizzard!

Nemogeddon! Snowpocolypse! It's coming today! And we captured this hottie just as he got the text alert from the City of Boston advising we're going to get up to 40 inches (1.22 meters) of snow! We appreciate a man who can deliver an adorable smirk when getting the news that the end of the world is about to take place.

Our HOTT Crew's preparations for the blizzard of "historic, epic" proportions (according to The Weather Channel) included partaking in beverages last night at Shays Pub in Cambridge. And we realized we were at Ground Zero for Snowzilla when John King from CNN came and sat nearby! He's even handsomer in person than on HD TV! We would have taken a pic of him but we're not the type to ogle (overtly at least) hunky celebrities. But an ever so handsome hottie at a table nearby had no such inhibitions and was snapping away with his iPhone! Which led to a conundrum for us. Do we focus on handsome John King to our left or pine away for the delicious hottie on our right? It's a tough life being surrounded by gorgeous men!

Don't forget... everything shuts down today at 3:30pm. Basically, wherever you are at 3:30pm is where you'll be for the duration of the blizzard! Stay warm, stay safe, and visit us regularly for Nemogeddon updates!

Crisp and Elegant

If the male characters from Downton Abbey were transported in time to the present day (on the T, of course) this is how they'd dress. Crisp and elegant. Shiny shoes. Creases in pants. Jackets that have that flattering fit. What a hottie!

Speaking of flattering, we're flattered that 2(x)ist has discovered our blog and sent us some of their very flattering long johns to review. We each got enough (although we're struggling over who gets which colors) so that we can review them Friday and Saturday during our upcoming N'oreaster. And we'll give you a full review of them, too!

And last, but not least, we've learned from The Boston Globe that the MBTA is commencing today yet another campaign to encourage riders to be courteous on the T. We're a bit perplexed as we've featured 380 hotties on our blog so far. All of them courteous and pleasant. But only one of them has been an MBTA employee (click here to see fabulous Green Line George!). We think perhaps that Beverly A. Scott, the new General Manager for the T, has it backwards and should be spending money on a courtesy campaign for the T employees. Or better yet, promoting Green Line George to manager so he can train MBTA employees on how to be nice to the paying passengers.

Double Tuesday - Days of Our Lives

Like the many color-coded lines of the MBTA, so are the hotties on our T. Here we have a wide spectrum of hotties on our commute to work. From vibrant to muted. From happy to pensive. From young to... well, not quite young. Both of our hotties offer quintessential takes on particular fashion styles.

V for Victory

Colorful men. Confident men. Men who know how to take a stance. Take this hottie in a V for Victory stance, for instance. His selection of color is not an accident. It's extraordinarily thoughtful and well-planned. As a matter of fact, his color choices are absolutely sumptuous! A sport coat in dark tan color is paired with shoes of the same color. Underneath his sport coat is a pale taupe cashmere V-necked sweater, and underneath that is a sensuously blue dress shirt. And our hottie's only use of the color black is in his scarf which compliments his black hair.

And we're so sad that we have to leave Ft. Lauderdale and fly back to Boston in just 5 hours. But we had a very interesting time being interviewed for the magazine article (and we'll let you know when the article appears!). Back to chilly Boston we come!

Project Red

Black certainly is a trendy and safe color to wear during winter. But we continually find ourselves attracted to the men who are bold and confident enough to wear the color red. Here our hottie satisfies the locals' conservative fashion sensibilities (black coat, black pants) yet proclaims his self-confidence and buoyant outlook by liberating his black attire with an apple-red scarf. And note how the scarf is draped outside his coat as opposed to the local fashion of tucking the scarf inside one's coat. Absolutely brilliant selection! We think we're going to start a campaign to get the men of Boston to brighten up by including red in their wardrobe.

Reminds us of our post from last May, Seeing Red (go ahead, click on the title, it's a link), where we explored the brilliance, literally and figuratively, of the color red.

Men in red are hot!

Speaking of hot, we're still in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. where the sun is recharging our winterized souls with beams of light, and the 72F temperature right now envelopes us in a way that's difficult to describe. We'll be sad to fly back this evening from our whirlwind trip, and we were kept far busier than we expected with interviews. But here are a couple of pics below from this morning: One on the beach in front of our hotel and the other taken just a moment ago by our pool.

Red Jacket on a Red Line

We adore red jackets. We love the brilliance they provide on the T.  Red jackets light up a man in a way a black jacket simply isn't able to do. Notice the confidence, well-chiseled features and handsome visage of our hottie. And just as yesterday's hottie was so into FT, so was this guy!

And what is the HOTT Crew up to for it's First Birthday? Well, we departed yesterday on our favorite airline (following on the heels of BosGuy) for a trip to Florida where we'll be interviewed by a national magazine for a feature article to be titled America's Top Gay Bloggers. We're honored to be selected, and ever so grateful that all five of us have been flown down to warm (67F right now) and sunny Fort Lauderdale.
