Double Tuesday - Gathering News

We like men who read the New York Times. Show's they're a well rounded bunch. On top of current events, latest trends, and breaking news. But not all New York Times readers are alike. Hottie on the left prefers his New York Times on his iPad mini. No muss, no fuss. Just the news that's fit to print ... electronically, of course, Hottie on the right prefers his New York Times the traditional way. In tactile paper the makes noise when you turn the page. A style of reading the Times that lets everyone know which section your reading, and even which article is interesting you at the moment. Which way do you prefer to get your news ... via new fangled iPad or in classic paper form?

Secret Agent Man

Black suit. Aviator sunglasses. Hands in pockets. Intent gaze directly ahead. All we could think of was that we had our own personal Secret Agent Man! He's ready to protect and ready to serve, and doing everything just right so that we all arrive safe and sound at our destination. It's a nice feeling knowing we have such a fine man of distinction looking out for us on the T!

Sunday Senses

This hottie is all about appreciation of the senses. Deluxe over-the-ear headphones let him listen to the most minute of details of his music. And a horizontal striped v-necked T-shirt show that his fashion senses are in tune with European style (and we note that few American men are able to successfully pull off horizontal stripes the way this hottie does). And designer eyewear lets our man of the day fully appreciate what he senses with his eyes. All while looking relaxed, confident, and in-tune with the world around him.

Back Bay Story

We're not sure why but lately our hotties have been reminding us of Broadway musicals. The other day was South Pacific, and today it's West Side Story. The broad shoulders on this hottie could carry the world, and just look at his pecs (conveniently accentuated with an iPhone ear bud cord)! And as we move upwards we encounter that nibblable neck and oh so striking facial features. Makes us want to burst forth into song! Perhaps something the character Tony would sing!

Speaking of West Side Story, we altered the name of our post to Back Bay Story as today is a special day where we get to show our support for all the businesses along Boylston Street and other affected streets in the Back Bay that were closed due to the April 15 Marathon Bombing. So drop by Boylston Street today and drop a $25 tab (or two or three or more) at local businesses to show your support.

Dream a Little Dream

Wow... we've got a busy weekend ahead of us. FT and GB are off to Florida this morning (Delta Flight 1315) and FTH, Nippy and Undercover RM will be spending Saturday on Boylston Street participating in the "Support Back Bay Businesses" event (you are welcome to join, of course!).

So we've got some dreaming going on about our weekend plans, and in line with that thought we feature a dreamer on the T! Maybe he's dreaming of us!

South Pacific

It's springtime, and the flowers are blooming, the temperatures are soaring, and the colors on everything are bursting forth. And our hottie today shows just how beautiful a day it was yesterday. Rarely does waiting for the T feel so good! And what a perfect color choice to celebrate the arrival of Spring. It reminds us of the song from the Broadway musical South Pacific, "Younger Than Springtime". Younger than springtime, indeed!

Incognito

We're rather intrigued with this fascinating gentleman as he appeared to be trying to travel incognito. And with his stunning and masculine good looks we can understand why he'd try to go unnoticed on the T. But our sharp eyes spotted him immediately and drunk in the sultry yet cool aura of our hottie today.

Double Tuesday - Layers of Simplicity

What an interesting contrast we get with today's two hotties. Hottie on the left offers the best of simplicity on the T. Jeans paired with a basic and very functional long-sleeved T-shirt are the perfect choice to let us admire his very masculine shaved head, and serve to focus our attention on his incredibly sexy facial features. Hottie on the right offers a contrasting take on simplicity by taking multiple functional items and layering them into a very compelling look. Instead of jeans our hottie on the right chose khakis, and for warmth he took a green scarf and layered it under a grey hooded sweatshirt and black leather jacket. Two versions of simplicity in attire, and two very attractive looks. Well done, hotties!

Lost in Thought

Our delightfully handsome hottie is completely lost in thought. After the weekend we've all been through we think we might know exactly how he feels. The blue of his fleece jacket and brown brown of his slacks and shoes go so well together, especially in the brilliant morning light of a new week.

First Responders and First Protectors

We gently ease our way back to our usual programming as we feel the terrible loss of life over the past 5 days, see the horrific wounds from which so many are struggling to overcome, and sense the sudden release of emotions as this week of terror reached it's violent conclusion. Among the many groups of responders and protectors who have been in our midst during this past week are the soldiers of the Massachusetts National Guard, who began the week with a major presence participating in the Boston Marathon. 15 soldiers ran the entire marathon in full combat uniform (their military backpacks weighed 40lbs!) and were cheered on by many other Massachusetts National Guard soldiers who gathered at the finish line. And when the bombs went off the soldiers who were spectators, and those who had just finished running the marathon, rushed in to rescue the victims of the bomb blasts. Their quick response to victims literally helped save lives. Photo above is from Military Friends Foundation and taken near the Copley T station.
But their role didn't end there. Immediately the Massachusetts National Guard began protecting the people of Boston from potential new terrorist attacks. Attacks which we now know were being planned in some form. The Massachusetts National Guard was everywhere, and especially present aboard our subway trains and in our subway stations. The above photo by our HOTT Crew shows soldiers guarding the Park Street T station.
Above our HOTT Crew encounters soldiers at the entrance to the Harvard Square T Station.
And here our crew encounters the Massachusetts National Guard at the Government Center T Station.

There are so many groups whose efforts over the past week deserve our thanks and praise. We hope our focus today on the Massachusetts National Guard helps us all to reflect on all the other groups who played such a vital role in responding to, and protecting, the people of our city.

It's Over!

For an entire day around 3/4 of a million people here were forced to stay indoors and "Shelter-in-Place" as the manhunt for the Marathon Bombers reached it's conclusion.

Our HOTT Crew experienced the sound and shaking of explosions, had National Guard soldiers inspect our homes, and as evening descended heard the final hail of gunfire that brought this nightmare to a close.

We were going to offer a reflection today and resume our programming tomorrow. But right now we're going to have a cocktail!

We'll be back very soon, possibly as soon as tomorrow. But do understand how unnerving this has been for us as we attempt to get back to our normal place.

We trust you are all safe and sound. So many first-responders and law enforcement people deserve our thanks, but most of all we want to point out the incredible effort by the people of the City of Boston, Cambridge, Brookline, Newton, Somerville, and yes, Watertown who, by their efforts to diligently follow unprecedented (for our country) orders enabled our law enforcement agents to swiftly resolve this situation.

See you soon!

The HOTT Crew

Lockdown in Boston

Right now the cities of Boston, Cambridge,  Somerville, Brookline, Watertown, Newton and Belmont are in lockdown and all residents are to stay indoors.

Our entire crew is safe and sound and in their homes and monitoring the situation as it develops.

Patriots Day Continues

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families of yesterday's bombing at the Boston Marathon, an act of terrorism that struck at the heart of our city on Patriots Day.

We are especially proud of our friends who were volunteers at the finish line area and rushed in to help those injured in the blasts, and also our coworkers at area hospitals who treated the wounded and worked to reunite families who became separated in the confusing hours afterwards.

We go back to work today by riding the T to our downtown locations unbowed by senseless acts of people who will never prevail.

Literati, Literahottie!

Literati are intellectuals who comment on literature. But what do you call a hot literati? Literahottie? We think we have a new word! We discovered this literahottie making significant progress on quite the dense tome. And he seems to be pausing to digest some of what he has read. We like his articulate and intellectual look.

Of course, HOTT Crew members FTH, Nippy and Undercover RM participated in the Midnight Marathon Ride last night. After riding out to Hopkinton on the MBTA's special bike train they rode the entire Boston Marathon route back into Boston.
Above we can see the scene that awaiting FTH, Nippy and Undercover RM. Bikes EVERYWHERE!
They didn't get too many pics enroute as it was... dark!
But our boys did manage to capture a pic of these handsome gents that crossed the finish line with them.

Well done, FTH, Nippy and Undercover RM!

Préparez Vos Mouchoirs

Good heavens it's been a busy weekend! But before digressing and getting lost on the details of the goings-on of the HOTT Crew we should focus first and foremost on this delicious hottie that was before our eyes on the Red Line. A stylish and tasteful Ralph Lauren quilted jacket provides warmth for the unseasonably cold weather we're experiencing in Boston, and we just adore a man who, even after he has just shaved, has a noticeable 5 O'clock shadow. This is a most handsome fellow!

So... as you already know FT and GB are down in Orlando for the Quidditch World Cup 2013, and what a fun time they are having! It's also quite amusing to watch them running up and down the Quidditch Ground in 85F weather while wearing athletic versions of academic garb. Only FT and GB! You can read more about the Quidditch World Cup in yesterday's New York Times here (click article title): Playing a Wizard's Game on Ordinary Broom

Biscuit, dear friend of the HOTT Crew, came down to watch FT and GB play Quidditch. Afterwards Biscuit drove them to the Thornton Park Publix in downtown Orlando for a firsthand view of how the local men still use the handkerchief code (ah... now you're getting the title of today's post... it's French for "Get out your handkerchief!").  It's like being in another era! Hankies of every color, and in every pocket!
No sooner had we walked in to the Publix than we spotted this well built hottie sporting a navy blue hanky in his left pocket. Can you guess what he's looking for?
Here's a view in motion of HankyMan. We love the stride, the lean into the turn, the sway of the arms.
So after cruising around the vegetable department at Publix Biscuit took us on a short walk to the Amway Center for Club Level seats at the basketball game featuring the Orlando Magic and the Boston Celtics! FT and GB were ecstatic the the Celtics routed the Magic. Alas, Biscuit decided to drown his sorrows at the Club Level bar below.
The hanky is in the right pocket ;-)

Stay tuned for the rest of the HOTT Crew's adventures at tonite's Midnite Marathon Bike Ride!

Simply Saturday

Please forgive us for a late posting today, but it's a busy weekend for our HOTT Crew. FT and GB are in Orlando, FL to watch the Quidditch World Series and FTH, Nippy and Undercover RM are practicing for the Midnite Marathon Bike Ride tomorrow.

We like this gent for his simplicity and timeless style. A sense of casualness (jeans), refinement (leather satchel) and overall sense of good looks (earth tone sports coat). And the sunglasses propped on top of his head is a nice touch, too. We just wish the woman next to him had been absent from the scene so that we could have a chance to slide in next to him!

Fabulous Friday - Bomber Command

Is this hottie delicious or what?!?! And we love the period attire that hearkens to back to the days of WWII and the Royal Air Force's Bomber Command. The things that make our hearts race? The tousled  windblown auburn hair, the wisp of a pencil-thin moustache, the adventurous Aviator sunglasses by Ray Ban, and the sumptuous genuine leather bomber jacket that's brought up-to-date with a sling satchel, power coffee and, of course, an iPhone.

Slumbering Beauty

Perhaps it's the Spring weather that is causing all of our hotties to slumber on the T. Here we have a gorgeous gent catching up on his sleep while bedecked in a very attractive outfit consisting of a flight jacket and buttoned-down Oxford shirt. Gold wrist chain matches the gold zipper on his jacket, and we also have to say that we're enjoying the eyebrows, among other things!

Pressed and Dressed

We captured this fella as he was apparently off to a job at a very prestigious firm. Fine quality and nicely tailored suit, we gather he plans to don his dark red silk tie upon arrival. And look at those lush dark eyebrows! Kind of reminds us of what Harry Potter would look like if he went off to work.

Double Tuesday - It's Raining Men

Two handsome men. Rain outside. It must be raining men! Alleluia! Handsome hottie on the right strikes our fancy with his extraordinary facial profile. Just look at the classic nose and full lips. And handsome hottie on the right let's us know it's Spring by wearing a black North Face vest that lets the sleeves of his dress shirt show, and he, too, has a classic facial profile.

We love rain. We love men. We love it when it's raining men!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

It's Opening Day at Fenway Park and we're looking for someone to take us out to the ball game. And we pick this handsome fellow! Crisp and pressed for work, yet dressed comfortably enough to slip out of work and over to Fenway Park for the season opener. Sculpted and styled hair perfect for maintaining it's look in the breezes in the stands. Stylish laptop sling sleeve for innocuously bringing along the laptop in case he needs to access work files during the game (while pretending to be somewhere other than Fenway Park).

Don't miss the flyover featuring two WWII-era Merlin-powered P-51 Mustangs. They did a practice flyover above HOTT Headquarters yesterday and the sound is pure magic!

Follow us on Twitter (@HottiesOnTheT) while singing the song below:

"Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd.
Buy me some peanuts and cracker jack,
I don't care if I never get back,
Let me root, root root for the home team,
If they don't win it's a shame,
For it's one, two, three strikes, your out,
At the old ball game."

All the Right Places

This hottie has it all, and in all the right places. Curves galore and a sensuous mood. He reminds us somewhat of Brian Boitano, but with more hair and much more charm. Where should we start with this stunning gent? How about at the top! The 5 O'Clock shadow is a wonderful juxtaposition with the dark tones of his clothing, and gives his face a sultry appearance. And the sling satchel conveniently delineates the gorgeous curves of his pecs. And the iPhone earbuds provide a brilliant guide leading us downward to even more gorgeous curves!

Red Runner

We'll do anything with a man in red. We'll run around town with him. Will run errands with him. Why, we do believe we'd even run him ragged. Although we prefer our runners (and cyclists) wearing tights sans shorts, we have a special affinity for men who can do the shorts over tights with style and flair. And what flair this hottie has! Brilliant red running shoes illuminate our hottie even on the darkest night, making it easy to spot him and enjoy his long lean frame. And the red running shorts not only add additional visibility but also serve to accentuate the goodness that the tights show off (think muscular thighs). Perhaps this hottie was "running to work" and catching the last leg on the T, as evidenced by the full backpack. Just what is in that backpack? Pardon us while we follow him to find out!

Fabulous Friday - Sleeping Beauty

If you thought Sleeping Beauty Castle was at Disneyland Park you were wrong. It's on the MBTA Green Line! We discovered this prince of a beauty getting in the last of his 40 winks on our commute to work and just couldn't resist capturing his adorable handsomeness in a pic. Stylish winter gloves ward off the last of Winter's chill and provide a comfortable mobile pillow for his head. And just look at that crisp haircut and gorgeous chiseled facial features! Some day our prince will come, indeed!

Our HOTT Crew is busy preparing for our 100,000th Visitor Gala to be held tomorrow evening. Vesper martinis, fabulous wine and sumptuous French food at Brasserie JO is on store for us, and afterwards we'll stroll over to Symphony Hall for a concert featuring Barbara Cook and John Pizzarelli. And our HOTT Crew will be joined by our dear friends Dodie & Mave and TJ & Max (from Cape Ann) and many others. It promises to be the event of the season!

Happy Friday!

Advanced Degree

This hottie has an advanced degree in delectability. We adore the simple sensuousness that's the hallmark of an academic man. The kind of man who can keep you up all hours of the night (discussing world events) and lapsing occasionally into convoluted conversations in French. Whether you're at a South End townhouse or a cabin in the woods, this is the kind of man who could quench whatever thirst you have. Simple. Stylish. Smart. Hot.

Double Tuesday - Paper vs iPad

First off, FT and GB want to thank everyone for the flattering comments about their picture on the blog yesterday. And yes, they do work out. Religiously.

And what a special pair we have for today's post! We call it "Paper vs iPad", a compelling blend of traditional and fashion-forward technology. Hottie on the left appears to be prepping for a meeting at work. We're sure someone with his good looks, fine clothes, and extraordinarily well groomed scruff always comes prepared. And hottie on the right is of particular interest to our HOTT Crew because he could be FTH's identical twin brother! Not only does he proudly display his iPad with green SmartCover JUST like FTH, but he's also sporting the same pea coat and identical haircut and facial scruff! We just wish FTH had been with us so that we could try to get a pic of him next to hottie on the right... it would be like a twin thing!

GB and FT - Undercover No More

After over a year of being incognito, GB and FT, the original founders of Hotties on the T have decided to reveal themselves to their adoring fans. In this picture from January 31, 2012, where the duo were celebrating the first anniversary of Hotties on the T (with cupcakes, of course!), we see GB (right) and FT (left) unmasked and looking fabulous in their favorite attire. Will the other HOTT Crew members reveal themselves today, too?

Stay tuned!
