Fabulous Friday - Dufflelicious

Our hottie's attention to detail rivals the design of @PDXCarpet! The Bavarian Hunter Green Duffle Coat is sublime with it's genuine Corinthian Leather tabs and highly polished wooden pegs, and the pairing with a deep French Blue Chambray Shirt (and dark khaki pants and all weather boots) is a magnificent design choice. We also very much like his Oliver Peoples eyewear!

Speaking of design choices, we understand our favorite carpet of all time, the much-beloved carpet at the Portland, Oregon airport, is being replaced. We think its geometric patterns reflecting the airport runway layout have an uncanny resemblance to the transit map for Boston's T network. And since the carpet is up for placement in new homes we think it would make for a lovely floor covering for our subway cars!

Fleeting Glances

We're hoping we get a pic of @BostonYeti2015 on the T! But sightings of the Yeti, who is drawn by the aroma of French Toast, are elusive. And just as sightings of the Boston Yeti are elusive, so was this stunningly attractive gentleman we barely managed to capture as he was being whisked away into the snowstorm. Now that's a man with whom we'd like to be snowbound!

And if you want to try to get the Boston Yeti to visit your neighborhood check out our French Toast recipe here: http://hottiesonthet.blogspot.com/2015/01/french-toast-alert-high.html

Wachusett

It's the day after the blizzard. The T is back in operation. And our handsome gentleman are displaying their fashionable outerwear! The Bean Boots are perfect for the 2 1/2 feet of snow on the ground, and the trim lines of the Columbia winter jacket with hideable hood are quite flattering on our gentleman. From his lift ticket we can tell he was skiing Wachusett just 3 days ago. And now he's braving the flats of Cambridge. He's a perfect post-snowpocalypse treat!

Double Tuesday - The Movie

Boston is under a lockdown on transportation during the blizzard we're experiencing. No subway service, and no auto travel on roads is permitted. So we're stuck at home enjoying the historic and crippling storm on foot! Meanwhile we thought we'd bring you a video of a hottie duo (above)!

And as you can see, the easiest way to get around is via skis! We also say a bicyclist riding down the middle of the road... and then saw him blown into a snowdrift on the side of the street!

We hope you are all safe and sound wherever you may be. And please, don't drive vehicles during the storm. People are skiing!

The Good Do Bee

Our hottie exudes elegance, grace, and preparedness. The perfect combination for the approaching blizzard! You can just tell that our hottie not only has concern for himself, but thinks constantly of others, and always lends a helping hand.

He's a "Good Do Bee".

And this is a perfect opportunity for all of us to be Good Do Bees and think of whom we can provide a helping hand tomorrow. It could be the senior citizen woman who lives down the street who could use a carton of milk. Or the elderly couple who need some help clearing their way out of the front door. Or it could be the man who lives alone with just his dog who might enjoy a friendly phone call. Perhaps a person with disabilities might appreciate an extra effort on your part to help them in, what for all of us, is a very difficult situation to get around.

So we invite you all to be "Good Do Bees" tomorrow and provide some people in need a helping hand.

Our HOTT Crew are Good Do Bees, and we even have the diploma!

Snow Balls

We'll all be making huge snowballs with the upcoming blizzard and forecast of 2 and more feet of snow (for our fans in the Commonwealth Realms that converts to 62 centimetres and more). Whatever comes our way we're certain our hottie above will look as smartly outfitted and au courant as he does here. The genuine leather satchel and carefully coordinated jacket, scarf and sweater make our gentleman radiate a warmth that all of us will soon be coveting.

And our HOTT Crew has been busy today battening down the hatches at our HOTT Crew's friend Dodie's ocean front estate on Eastern Point on Cape Ann. Traffic was a nightmare getting down Main Street in Gloucester. We weren't sure what had completely blocked the street to traffic, but it turned out it was just the new Acting Mayor.

Don't forget to get your bread, milk, and eggs now!

French Toast Alert - SEVERE!

Thursday February 12 through Sunday February 15, 2015

This is it! It's THE BIG ONE! Again!

Please see IMPORTANT MBTA Service Updates: http://www.mbta.com/winter/
Head to the store NOW for bread, milk, and eggs (and the other ingredients below)!

French Toast a la Provence

It's our HOTT Crew's favorite French Toast recipe! We're expecting a lot of snow, and a Winter Storm Warning is in effect, with up to 2 feet of snow on the way, so it's time to go to the grocery store now! Things you'll need are:

12" cast iron skillet . The French DO NOT use teflon skillets!
5 large egs
2 cups whole milk
1 tablespoon granulated cane suger
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
5 1/2 cups lightly packed sourdough bread cubed into 3/4 inch pieces.
5 slices thickly cut bacon, sliced into 1/2 pieces
3 large Granny Smith apples
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons light brown sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon maple syrup

Preheat oven to 375F

Mix first 6 ingredients in a bowl. Then add bread cubes and stir thoroughly until mixed.

Peel, core and then slice apples into 10 sections each.

Cook bacon on medium heat, stirring occasionally until browned. Scoop out bacon and put in a bowl by itself. Pour out all but 1 tablespoon of bacon fat from skillet. Add butter (skillet still on medium heat) and then stir in light brown sugar and maple syrup.

Add sliced apples evenly on skillet and let caramelize for 10 mins.

Sprinkle half of the bacon on top of apples. Pour on bread mixture evenly across apples. Sprinkle remaining bacon on top.

Place skillet in oven for 30 mins. Remove, flip onto serving dish immediately and then let sit for 5 minutes to firm up.

Slice and serve warm with maple syrup or save for later and reheat in microwave.

Serves 6 to 8 people!

You'll Love Our Balls

Resplendent in a deep charcoal snow-proof jacket and luxuriously patterned green scarf, magnificently draped around his neck, our hottie today shows one can be ready for the snowy weather and look good at the same time!

And with the Patriots on their way to the Super Bowl it seems all everyone is talking about is balls. What's with all the balls talk?!?! Balls that have a good grip. Balls that don't slip out of one's grasp. It's enough to make one hungry. So hungry our HOTT Crew has fired up the slow cooker and is making a favorite of ours during winter weather... Roussillon Meatballs!
Above you can see our HOTT Crew's balls slow roasting in the slow cooker. They're a delicious winter treat we first experienced in Southern France and have adapted to Boston. We'll even share the recipe with you below!

Fabulous Friday - Deflated Balls

The luxurious look of our hottie's overcoat. The perfection with which he wraps his cashmere scarf around his neck and inside his coat. The very deft use of a Windsor Knot on his necktie. Our hottie is a man of perfection!

What? You came here looking for balls? Whose balls? Why is everyone talking about balls, especially deflated balls?!?!

Could it be the balls belonging to the Men in Kilts Window Cleaners, whom we encountered this morning outside the Charles/MGH T Station (in 22F / -5C temperatures, no less!)? We must say that's it's pretty impressive (and tempting, if you know what we mean) to encounter a window cleaner wearing a kilt!

Under Armour

Under Armour alludes to hints of love in one's underwear. But they also make lovely outerwear, too! And our very put-together gentleman du jour is attired in the most immaculate Under Armour winter jacket. Not a single wrinkle in it! And is French Blue dress shirt is equally perfectly pressed. Even the straps of his day pack are perfect. We couldn't help but imagine he probably makes his bed every morning and has a closet full of neatly lined up and well creased shirts and slacks.

Valentine's Day is less than a month away, and we know that some of you are feeling incredibly insecure about not having a boyfriend/husband/significant other. Well, for only $24.95 you can have the boyfriend of your dreams and a public social media trail that lets others think you're no longer suffering from the "diseased state of being single".

It's an app called Invisible Boyfriend, and you can get it here: https://invisibleboyfriend.com

Go ahead, try it out! You'll go from pathetic to impressive in seconds! And remember, the only thing worse than being single is whining about it. ;-)

Big Red

A big red toboggan on a sumptuous hottie. What a wake me up for a chilly ride to work! The hint of ginger-brown hair peeking out from under the toboggan was most alluring, as were the fit of his sweater and pants!

Double Tuesday - Black vs. Red

We adore hot men in contrasting colors! Hottie on the left displays the quintessential Boston colder weather attire of a black jacket and dark pants. Hottie on the right shows off his brilliant red rain jacket (we love it when men wear red!). Both hotties seem to relish the weather!

Alan Cumming

Our hottie has an amazing resemblance to Alan Cumming, host of WGBH's Masterpiece Mystery. The furtive glance of the eyes, which periodically turn to gaze at one's inner soul. The skinny fit suit coat, paired with a Scottish sweater vest and skinny fit jeans, pays perfect homage to Alan Cumming.
And our HOTT Crew's stay in Provincetown continues. Yesterday evening, after the Skipinder Winter Festival, the Provincetown Cultural Council hosted a "Harborfront Open House Stroll". It was great fun walking along the waterfront at low-tide and peering inside everyone's vacation home. We came away with a lot of fabulous decorating ideas! Many thanks to everyone who left their blinds open and lights on.

Black is the New Black

If you're going to wear black, make it work! And this hottie above certainly does with a dark and handsome appearance. Bravo! Our HOTT Crew has been on special assignment in Provincetown this weekend to catch up on the latest cultural offerings, learn more about the planned AIDS Memorial, and get an update on construction progress for the Provincetown Monorail.

http://hottiesonthet.blogspot.com/2014/07/monorail-for-provincetown.html
We were in a select delegation of thought leaders and news providers asked to be a part of this special weekend. And Provincetown leaders knew how to get our attention by providing everyone with fresh Wellfleet oysters and delicious martinis at Victors (above, and normally closed for the season but open exclusively for this special event).
Victors provided a conveniently warm venue from which to view progress made on the monorail. Extensive work is well underway near the TLC Station on West Vine Street. Underground utilities for the TLC laundromat, fiber optic cables, and beamway posts are all being installed simultaneously.
Another view of monorail construction down West Vine Street (looking towards the harbor).  After our tour of the construction our delegation was taken to Town Hall to view the site of the planned AIDS Memorial and meet with artists who are thinking of submitting designs for the memorial. It was intriguing to see so many designs focused on the diversity of people who succumbed to AIDS.
Afterwards our delegation got to partake in the First Annual Skipinder Winter Festival, a collaborative effort of the Provincetown Cultural Council and South Asian Arts Council. The entire series of the Australian/British classic Skipinder, the Punjabi Kangaroo was presented to thunderous applause (and ample Australian and Indian snacks). The PCC and SAAC hope festivals such as these help make winter a good time to visit. It's been a fun weekend and we look forward to coming back soon!

Cold as Jack

Heat filled handsomeness warmed up our train on this cold as Jack day. What an elegant line his collar makes on his wool overcoat. The waves, the curves, the angular lines create an image of suppleness and enveloping warmth.

Double Tuesday - Trans Siberian Subway

Such a swift and precipitous plunge of the temperatures in the past 12 hours, and we've managed to capture the scene on our way to work! From high tech polymers that ward of the blasts of arctic air (hottie standing) to woven natural fibers that cuddle one in one's own body heat, our fellow travelers aboard our train were certainly bundled up!

If our hottie were riding the T with us on the No Pants Subway Ride we'd know if he wore boxers or briefs! Well, we'd know if he'd move the luxurious leather satchel out of the way! It's bone chilling cold today and our HOTT Crew is wearing our finest designer briefs for today's annual No Pants Subway Ride! Brrrrr!

Incognito

Our gentleman hottie may be incognito, but we sure do notice the luxurious fabrics of his winter attire. We want to see more of this handsome man!

Fabulous Friday - The eReader

Update at 9:25am February 17, 2015: Congrats to our Hottie who just became our 5th most popular hottie of all time! The climb to 4th place is going to be challenging! Don't forget to follow us on Twitter! @HottiesOnTheT

It was blowing snow above ground, but the hot man on our train was nice and warm and very engrossed with his eBook. We especially appreciate our gentleman's astute sense of color. Look at the heavenly chocolate color of his dress shoes, the darker brown pants and the navy wool coat with dusty blue scarf. He's a sensation of color and good looks!

Windchill

It was a seasonable -4F at HOTT Headquarters this morning, yet this handsome man at the station appeared unaffected by the severe temperatures. We adore men who seem at ease in extreme conditions! And many thanks to the Red Line train drivers who drove the trains all night long so that they'd be able to operate without delay during the morning commute!

And he had nice eyewear, too!

Luminosity

Luminosity: The soft enhancing glow of light that illuminates one's face emitted by an iPhone. And our hottie today is definitely attractively bathed in the luminescence projected by his iPhone. Even FT got into the quest for the warm glow of luminescence with his own iPhone while checking the weather last night. It felt so good!

Stay warm, everyone!

Double Tuesday - The Intellectuals

Handsome men are hot, but there's an extra zing when you find a handsome and intellectually inclined man! These two hotties are on their way to work, the one on the left is already in his business casual attire while the one on the right is still in his workout clothes and, we presume, going to change at work. What handsome and hot men they are!

And yes, we did finally make it to work after today's horrific delays. Apparently the Canadian-designed trains on the Red Line don't operate well in cold temperatures. Go figure!
