One of our visits on our luxurious and challenging cycling trips through Provence was the charming village of Simiane-la-Rotunde, conveniently perched atop a steep mountain climb so that we'd have to earn our lunch.
A lovely lunch of locally raised guinea fowl and a plethora of the town's famous cheeses was offered in a covered piazza area overlooking the valley below. Then off we went after lunch into the warm Provencal afternoon, crossing the valley in our bikes and beginning the ascent of the opposite range of mountains where we luxuriated in picking while thyme growing along the mountain roads. We smelled lovely!
DuVine Adventures offers physical challenges as well as ample opportunities to pause and luxuriate in the stunning surroundings. Here FT's bike rests beside a mountainside bridge as he climbs the slopes nearby harvesting the Herbs de Provence.
Soon our trip with DuVine Adventures comes to an end and we depart for Paris where our HOTT Crews' friends Dodie & Mave say they have a surprise waiting for us. We can't wait!
Loving these photos.
