Fresh on the Train

We were rather taken by the fresh young look on this gentleman. His eyes were captivating! And the slight smirk in his smile definitely made him stand out. That, and the brilliant red ski cap with the curled lock of hair perfectly positioned to fall out of the cap so that it frames his eyebrows and cheekbone structure.

Lost in Thought

Oh how we were lost in thought watching this handsome gent who was lost in thought! Is he listening to something intriguing on his iPhone? Is he wondering about meeting someone for the first time? We wish we new what thoughts he had that led to his endless gaze.

Double Feature

Luxuriantly wavy hair. And jooouged sleeves! Yes, we spelled "jooouged" correctly. We had to post both of the pics that we took of this gentleman!

Profile #1 (left) gives you a view of what we saw as we approached our empty seat. The stressed and torn jeans show off his muscular thighs. The jooouged (seriously, it's a real word!) sleeves let us see his toned and hirsute arms. And the view from above gives a hint of how his tousled wavy hair completes the handsomeness of this gentleman.

Profile #2 (right) is taken from our seat and gives us a much better view of his facial features and the strong shoulders. Note the intent focus this hottie has on playing Angry Birds on his iPhone. This is a man who takes his technology seriously. Swoon!

Is That a Cello in Your Pocket?

Or are you just excited about the newly released Angry Birds Space? We just had to get a pic of this wholesome hottie. After all, how can you not see a humongous red cello case on the T? The casual dress of this gentleman doesn't hide the fact that he probably looks adorable in a tuxedo (with his cello, of course!). And he's mesmerized by playing Angry Birds on his iPhone. We admire men who are musically inclined and technologically adept!

Harvard Hottie

This stunning gentleman goes to Harvard's JFK School of Government. And we were thankful for last week's spate of unseasonably warm weather! Just look at those coral color shorts and how they show off his shapely calfs and thighs. The brilliantly white V-necked T compliments the style of the shorts while also conveniently showing off his defined pecs. Backward-facing baseball cap matches the heavenly T-shirt. And we do admire happy hotties!

Locks and Lips

Oh yes, we admire this gentleman's abundant locks of hair. The eyes fixed with attention on his friend as they were engaged in esoteric conversation. His clothes exuding a comfortable air of casual sophistication.  And we couldn't help but focus on his facial features. His lips a study in artistic perfection.

Tall Boy

Here it is 2018 and this man is still as popular as ever!

As you probably know we admire men who read on the T. We just wish we could figure out what men are reading on their Kindles! This tall handsome gent sported a casualness that we found quite attractive. The shirt adds a hint of Spring color. The briefcase shoulder strap positioned in a manner that leads one to believe that despite his casual attire he's serious about his work. A little bit of scruff lends a bit of mysteriousness about him.

Our first mega-hit hottie and still attracting throngs to this post in 2018. Awesome!

We Promised...

...We delivered!

Back in February in our post Bikes on the T we promised to sign up for Harbor to the Bay, a 125 mile one-day bike ride fundraising event. We are so intent on finding the hottie that we met on the Blue Line that all 5 of us have signed up for Harbor to the Bay! And we're very excited to be part of a challenging event where 100% of rider-received donations go to funding support and research for those with HIV/AIDS.

As we disembarked from our Green Line train in Brookline we realized we had the opportunity to get a pic of a cyclist. Although our policy is to only show pics of hotties on the T, or on T property, we figured this young gentleman on a Cervelo cycling past a Green Line train was close enough. And just look at his sculpted calves!

Why don't you join us? All you have to do is sign-up at http://www.harbortothebay.org

Top and Bottom

As soon as we stepped aboard this Red Line train at Park the theme song from The Patty Duke Show popped into our heads (video of theme song embedded below).

Just look at the color yellow on the pants of the gentleman on top. Then look at the color of the jacket of the gentleman on bottom. They're identical!  Who would expect this shade of yellow on the T in winter?
And it wasn't two sightings on the T, nor two sightings on the T in one day. Not even two sightings on the same train on the same day. No. During this season of exclusively charcoal and black it was two men wearing the same color yellow on the same train in the same car right next to each other! And look at the bottom gent’s blue shoes. That color blue blends in with the blue on the top gent's athletic bag, and then completes the pairing with a blending with his bluish grey fleece jacket.

Two nice looking men who exude two very different personalities, yet look so incredibly similar.

We couldn’t help but notice that they both disembarked at MIT. They dressed for their destination!

Please don’t think we’re ridiculing their attire. We’re not. We like it. It gave us a bright smile on a winter day. And we’ll remember them, and their fine sense of style (and eclectic choice of colors), for a long time.

Napolean

From this gentleman's size we gather he doesn't have a Napolean complex. Though he may be trying to emulate the grandeur of the Napoleonic era. Or he's simply fondling his left nipple (Oh the stories we can tell about that!).

Grey dress trousers, Navy pea coat. Sun glasses. Baseball cap. And delicious facial hair! We admire this hottie for maintaining this pose throughout our 45 minute commute to downtown!

So Much in One Package

We changed seats so we could sit opposite this striking gentleman. And he's striking because there are so many elements that caught our eye and kept our attention. He's perhaps 5'9". But so much is packed into that compact frame!

Besides having classic boyish good looks, his clothes fit absolutely perfectly. This gentleman knows how to select clothes! And the undershirt gives a subtle hint to the viewer that there's something underneath that you really want to see. What the picture doesn't give justice to are his pecs. Well defined pecs. And notice the masculine manner in which he handles his Kindle. We had a most pleasant journey home on the T!

Tweedle Dee

Ok. We have a thing for tweed. Men in tweed, that is. As we were approaching the station that's one stop before ours we noticed this handsome gentleman standing and awaiting to alight. So we pretended that we were going to do likewise so we could capture his handsomeness for posterity!

We admire how he can wear a tweed sport coat with such ease. No affectations. No airs. It just suits him. And you have to admit this studious hottie has an adorable air about him.

Winter's Waning Days

We're looking forward to summer. But we will miss the fine winter attire that we've been seeing on our hot gentlemen on the T.

This hottie had a wonderful grey pea coat type jacket and accentuated the detail on the jacket with a voluptuous scarf of multiple stripes of varying shades of grey.  We very much enjoyed traveling with him on the Red Line from Cambridge to Boston. We wonder what he'll be wearing this summer?

Camping, Anyone?

Our train was making slow progress. It was quite crowded, too. And yet it was such a pleasant journey due to this hot gentleman posing amidst the crowd. He was completely unaware that we were transfixed by his pose. The effortless way that he perfectly positioned himself to show off all those manly attributes we love so much.

Fabulous facial hair. Flannel shirt. Jeans. Gorgeous. We wanted to fire up the ZipCar app and reserve a car, and then grab this hottie at the next stop and take him to a cabin in Vermont. Or Maine. Or New Hampshire. We'd even settle for a cabin outside of Worcester!

Kickin' Back

We rather enjoyed this very relaxed athletic gentleman. Navy blue athletic pants, green sweatshirt (we like men who prepare for St. Patrick's Day), and confidently crossed arms.

He's a handsome hottie, too. It's nice seeing men who have an air of comfortableness about them no matter what they are doing.

Electric

We saw this gentleman board in front of us, so we made sure we had our camera activated as we boarded so we could get a good pic. And we scored!

Everything about this man was electric. From the electrically grounded work boots,  the steel grey work pants and the electric green sweat shirt. He certainly lit up our morning commute!

Mad About Physics

We admire a man who can embrace both his inner geek and his taste for fashion. And we thought he was so adorable wearing a nice outfit while engrossed in his book Mad About Physics!

Nice charcoal dress pants, black leather bomber jacket, and a charcoal and grey striped scarf pair well with his designer eyeglasses frames. He could easily act as an on-air consulting contributor to cable news on issues pertaining to physics.

Streamliner

We were fascinated with how this gentleman incorporated streamlining into his fashion . The bangs of his hair are expertly styled with a crisp forward anvil shape. And the perfectly pressed ski cap has a streamlined point in the opposite direction of the bangs. Such a casual look, yet it must have taken quite a bit of prep work to get it "just so".

We spent most of our commute wondering how exactly he maintains this look!

Finding Time Again

We discovered this delightful hottie on the Green Line. He was reading Proust's Le Temps Retrouvé (Finding Time Again). He speaks French! We love men who speak French as much as we love men with moustaches!

We thought the black duffle coat was a nice touch. And the Under Armour Khalon Sling Backpack fits him perfectly. We noticed that this French speaking gentleman was listening to an Android device, but we'll forgive him that lapse in judgement. After all, he was reading Proust. In French!

Seeing You Seeing Me on the C Line

We think we were busted by this gentleman. But we were so entranced with his full-length Harris Tweed coat that we couldn't resist taking his picture. And he very much reminded us of a gentleman we captured on the CT1 bus (see February's post "See You Seem Me on the CT1").

Perhaps our love of chocolate tweed coats is due to having seen almost exclusively black coats this winter. We really admire a man who is confident enough to wear a color that goes against the overwhelming choice of everyone else.

And the way he's looking at us. It's almost as if he's thinking, "Yes, take my picture. Lots of people take my picture".

Morning in America

It's morning again in America. 3.7 million new private sector jobs have been created in just the past 24 months. 3 million more students are receiving Pell grants to attend college than in 2008. Families are protected from losing their health care or being forced into bankruptcy when a family member gets sick or is in an accident. And men and women no longer have to lie to serve in the military for the country they love. It's morning again in America, and under the leadership of President Obama, our country is prouder and stronger and better. Why would we ever want to return to where we were less than 4 short years ago?

We so admire this handsome gentleman's positive outlook. Hopeful. Confident. Secure with the future. We also appreciate the leftward swing of his burgundy and grey scarf! It's morning again in America.

Scarf Him Up

On a chilly winters day, such as today, we're reminded of how handsome a man can be when a really nice scarf accentuates his good looks. And a choice scarf truly enhances a man's clothes. Here we have a gentleman who knows how to pick, and wear, a scarf!

A multi-colored scarf featuring greys, blues, charcoal, and beige stripes pairs so well with his blue-grey jeans and collar-up charcoal wool coat. Closely cropped, yet layered, haircut really is a fine touch with his outfit. The perfect blend of casual fashion. And he just looks so attractive from head to toe!

Our T Angel

Oh how we sighed when stepped aboard our Red Line train and found ourselves face to face with this angelic young man! Intently reading The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo, he was completely unaware that we were mesmerized by his lustrous wavy auburn hair gleaming with natural highlights. Accentuating his delightful good looks is a stylish 3/4 length charcoal wool coat accessorized with a tasteful charcoal and grey scarf.

This gentleman especially reminds us of the exquisite statue of Jesus on the altar screen at Leslie Lindsey Chapel at Emmanuel Church on Newbury Street. Dominating the whole altar screen in Lindsey Chapel is the figure of the Risen Jesus, triumphant and bearing a banner. The only difference with our hottie is that he is triumphant but bearing a book. We admire peace loving men!

Although we don't attend Emmanuel Church, the statue of which we speak is not to be missed. And we've discovered that you can see it free today at their Noon Bach Concert Series (or ask to visit the chapel after their Sunday service and Bach Cantata)! Click on the embedded links for directions. Do visit and check out the statue, and then let us know what you think.

Gingered Goodness

Was it this hottie's ginger hair that garnered our attention on the way to work? Was it the pea coat that fit him perfectly? Was it the North Face eTip Gloves he was using with his iPhone 4S that melted our hearts? Was it the exquisitely arranged charcoal scarf?

We think it was everything about him that garnered our attention. And we admire him for combined a great sense of style with a love of technology accessories!

Shoes, Glorious Shoes

This is our second hottie on the Red Line who had just been shopping at DSW (Discount Shoe Warehouse). And we're becoming rather fond of the men we're seeing with the DSW shopping bags!

We especially admire this gentleman's taste in pea coats. First, it's not the traditional navy or black, it's grey. Quite a luxurious color grey, too. And notice the cuffs have an extra accent that adds flair. Pairing well with the pea coat are navy pants and navy gloves, with a black extra large scarf. The satchel slung over his back is also a nice touch. And, of course, he has an iPhone 4S.

We're estimating a Pea Coat Ratio of 32 X 32. Very nice!

Ride 'Em Tweed Cowboy!

What can we say? There's so much going on here that we almost missed our stop! First, we admire this gentleman for being able to combine the best of the British countryside with the the wildest of the American West. Ride 'em, Sir Cowboy!

Let's start with the fine British elements of this hottie's outfit. The shoes are classic British style. An American would wear shoes that had no noticeable wear. These shoes combine an expensive look with a functional appearance that lets you know high quality shoes are meant to be worn regularly. The herringbone tweed jacket is appropriate for a hunting weekend at an English country house.

The American elements of this ensemble are quite noticeable. The form-fitting white pants paired with a white scarf with faint hints of a checkerboard pattern. Most intriguing of the American elements is a white pocket square with delicate marbling. Notice the insouciance of how it's positioned in his coat pocket. Last, but not least, a cowboy hat!

We admire a man who can look so comfortable in such an unusual outfit!

Commuter Bud

As Hotties on the T expands the number of contributors to the blog, we're able to feature delicious men from all sorts of new routes!

Today's gentleman has become a regular experience of ours on the 240 Bus from Milton. Always impeccably dressed. Dress pants, full-length coat, tasteful satchel that's appropriate for the office and the commuter bus. And elegantly long fingers. Penetrating eyes. Luscious lips. We really admire this hottie has everything put together with such finesse.

Temple Time

We think men of faith are so hot! And this is our third hottie with a broken leg! People are going to begin wondering if we're deliberately crippling hot men so that we can more easily get their pictures.

What we admire about this gentleman is his ability to creatively use props to highlight his best attributes and skills. First, fitting a jeans pant leg over a leg cast is an impressive feat. The open newspaper lends an air of intellectual curiosity and vast knowledge. And the Star of David Stole not only functions as a trendy way to stay warm, but also gives the observers the clear knowledge that this is a man of deep faith... and style!

Love in the First Degree

How lucky were we when this stunningly handsome and in-shape Transit Police officer boarded our Red Line train at Downtown Crossing! We had this immediate urge to have him handcuff us and lead us away to a locked cell! Reminds us of one of our favorite club songs, "Love in the First Degree" by Bananarama.

'Cause I'm guilty
Guilty as a girl can be
Come on baby can't you see
I stand accused, of love in the first degree.

California Dreamin'

When we encountered this hottie on the T our thoughts immediately went to the days when we lived in Southern California. Streets lined with Washingtonia palms, a casual lifestyle, and the University of California - Irvine (UCI) Anteaters Water Polo team! Oh, sweet mystery of life at last we found you!

The fit of this gentleman's jeans is worthy of lengthy discussion. Suffice it to say we admire how well they fit, and yet there's that appropriate looseness that gives a hint to this man's toned physique. And the UCI jersey has such a seductive pouch on the front. Add to this the facial scruff, and a faraway gaze, and you'll know why we almost melted right in front of him. Go Anteaters!

Our 1 Month Anniversary!

Today marks one month since we took Hotties on the T online.  And don't worry, we're not going to deprive you of a pic today. As a matter of fact we have a sumptuous, hunky, drop dead gorgeous 1 Month Anniversary hottie that we'll feature beginning at noon! We just thought we'd take a moment to tell you some background about how we began and what we've accomplished.

The Hotties on the T concept was born in Summer 2011 when two men, FT and GB (see their descriptions below), began taking pics of hot men while commuting to work on the T. FT and GB would promptly text their pics to each other and compare notes. Then, in Fall 2011 FT and GB stumbled upon a London website featuring pics of hot men on the Tube and thought, "Hey, we can create a blog for Boston using the pics of men we've taken!". In January 2012 FT and GB learned that the group doing pics of men on the Tube was going to begin featuring men on the T in Boston. FT and GB promptly began creating the blog Hotties on the T so that they could beat the interloper from overseas. And they did! And now Hotties on the T has grown from 2 to 5 contributors (all of whom contribute pics).

  • We were the first website to feature pics of hot men on the T (our first six pics were posted on January 31, 2012... beating another website by 17 hours).
  • We post a new photo and story every morning, 7-days a week, at 5:00 a.m.
  • We have had close to 8,000 visitors in our first month.
  • We don't accept submissions. We use only photos taken by our group of male friends.
  • We focus on the gay male perspective of men on the T (we have lots of straight fans!).
  • We're a Safe For Work blog!
  • We're locally owned and operated (unlike a foreign owned and operated website).
  • We opted to forego advertisements (and the money we'd get for taking advertisements) so that we could stay in compliance with the T's photo policy.
What a lot of people are asking, however, is, "Who are you!?!?". Well, we do this anonymously, but we'll identify the nicknames we've given each other (nicknames are in italics), a brief description of each of our roles, and the subway lines we respectively frequent:
  1. FT is our Executive in charge of production. Red Line / Green Line
  2. FTH is our Executive in charge of diversity casting. Red Line
  3. GB is our Executive layout editor. Green Line / Blue Line
  4. RM is our Executive for social events. Red Line / Orange Line
  5. Nippy is our Executive for suburban affairs. Commuter Rail / Commuter Bus
So, thank you all for the many kind, supportive and encouraging comments! Please bookmark our blog at home and at work. We don't want you to miss any of our hotties!
