Liturgically Appropriate Sweater

It was the morning of Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent 2012. We always strive to go to church wearing a bow tie that matches the liturgical color for the day. The color for Lent is violet (with a few exceptions, such as Laetare Sunday which has rose as it's color).

So imagine how thrilled we were to see this gentleman wearing a violet colored sweater on the first day of Lent! We only wish it had been later in the day when we might have seen him wearing his violet sweater and ashes on his forehead.

Button-down Oxford shirt, khaki pants, and a 3/4 length charcoal wool coat complete his outfit. We admire a man who can dress appropriately for the office and still offer a nod to the liturgical season!
